A Rather Late Thanksgiving Post

Well, it's a little late but here are the pictures from our Thanksgiving. We were fortunate to have my Mom's sister's family join us!

Looking to the left of our long table....

...and looking to the right from the other end!

We all have the tradition of reading a Thanksgiving poem, story, or Bible verse. Here Dad is reading something for a younger child.

Sorry if some of the picts are a little blurry, I forgot the flash on several of them.
I hope you all had a wonderful Thanksgiving!

Carlsbad Trip Part 2 (Finally)

My family, some church friends, and I recently went to Carlsbad Caverns, NM. The Caverns were magnificent and it awed me to think that someone could believe that they were made by chance. Kelsey and I have taken some pictures and I hope you can see what I mean. (I do recommend taking your own trip to see them.) These are the pictures for the hike we went on in the main cavern.

This looking out to Texas. It was quite a view!

This the entrance to the cave. We also sat here to watch the bats come out at night! The Rangers said there was about 425,000 bats living in the cave!!!! WOW.

These picts are all going into the cave.

Looking back at the entrance. (This was called the "twilight zone.")

I like to call this formation "the sperm whale".

Well, that was the second part of our adventure in Carsbad, we still had another one on the way! It takes form as "part 3" on my blog, so stay tune! :)
If you haven't read part one click here to read it on my sister, Kelsey's blog!
Thanks for reading and my deepest apologies for not posting in a while.

Our Camping Trip

My whole family went for a camping trip, (Up in Jemez, New Mexico,) with other families from our homeschooling group. We had a great time as we got to spend time together. We played games ranging from Kickball to Ultimate Frisbee to Whiffleball. Friday night we all gathered around the campfire and sang worship songs.

This renegade chipmunk became a nuisance as he would bravely sneak up to the picnic table and steal the little ones food. One time Keturah left her plate of food and ran to Dad and I. We both watched as the chipmunk climb up the picnic table and grab a chip much to Keturah's horror and chagrin.

Josiah was a REALLY good hiker and ran almost the whole way back up the trail.

Josiah is one happy camper!

Taking down camp. It looks like I'm getting lazy..... :(

Half of the campers.
Two small things I learned to be thankful for that I often take for granted is: CD players and dry shoes and socks. (Mine would get wet easily! :D) Roughing it makes you appreciate the small things!
