We may live in a desert but thankfully, we are still able to have a garden. But, with a garden comes it's "pests". Here is a countdown of the top 5 garden pests in our family garden.
#5 Quail
Yes, I did say Quail. The birds squeeze through our fencing around the garden and help themselves to our tomato plants. I'm not sure why......
#4 Blister Beetles (Cysteodemus wislizeni)
(Picture not available)
These beetles also happen to eat tomato plant leaves. Though, not very destructive they will eventually destroy a tomato plant.
#3 Rabbits and Hares
Eating almost anything in our garden this highly destructive mammal can squeeze through a hole as small as the size of an adults fist.
#2 Squash Bugs
Squash bugs eat away at our squash plant leaves. They come in large numbers and will kill the plant quickly.
#1 Tomato Hornworms
This is the pest we struggle most with. They devour any part of the tomato plant which quickly destroys any healthy tomato plant. Thanks to the Hoppman Family Pest Control they are under way to keeping our garden a happy and healthy one! :) Which garden pest do you struggle with the most?

The top garden pest that I could think of in our garden is sparrows and grasshoppers. Sparrows eat our peaches, pears, and grapes, while grasshoppers will eat just about anything.
